To the mortal world, the Cataclysm was sudden and unannounced, a peaceful evening turned calamitous night in an instant. It left the world reeling and lost, blind and confused. From the shattered remnants of Erden, factions formed to pick up the pieces. One such faction learned to harness the inconstant winds of magic anew, to see beyond the veil of time and reality. The Arcana Obscura now use their mystical talents at spellcraft and divination to lead the search for the lost relics of the gods, to piece together how they went missing in the first place, and to ensure nothing like the Cataclysm happens again. Even as the Obscura’s masked seers read the skeins of fate to foresee new and emerging threats, the covens’ eldritch inquisitors relentlessly pursue every divined lead regarding the Cataclysm and vigilantly watch for those that would use the disorder to their advantage. In the realm of Liminalis, the Twiceborn of the Arcana Obscura have only seen their oracles’ prophetic talents enhanced due to their proximity to the gods. Likewise their spellswords and banebinders search for clues and track down nascent dangers all the more efficiently due to the mobility afforded by the Shadowgate. The Cataclysm was unforeseen.
