Current Day: Many noble manors stand roofless or cracked, but new scaffolds and shimmering cloths return life to the area. Artisans and jewelers have reopened three major halls.
Past Memory Fragment: Your players once rushed through Goldveil evacuating nobles as siege fire rained down.
Dungeon Link: Beneath a manor ruin lies a sealed stairway Soriel used to store the earliest designs of the magical door-spirits.
An industrial zone built on iron-rich red stone, which “rusted” in the rain, giving the district its name.
Current Day: Half-abandoned workshops sit beside newly restored forges. A constant ringing echoes from metalworkers returning to their craft.
Past Memory Fragment: Players defended this terrace’s chokepoint as flames devoured the outer railings.
Dungeon Link: One old forge hides a dwarven elevator shaft leading directly into the maintenance section of Soriel’s dungeon.
A cultivated grove of silver-leaf trees grown by elven horticulturists. It was once the most peaceful place in the city.
Current Day: Half of the orchard is blackened from wartime fires, but new shoots grow among the ruins. Priests help tend the regrowth.
Past Memory Fragment: The players once regrouped here, wounded and exhausted, beneath the silver glow of the untouched trees.
Dungeon Link: Roots penetrate into one of Soriel’s tunnels; corrupted dungeon creatures may be affecting the regrowth.
A district partially collapsed into underground caverns after bombardments.
Current Day: People build makeshift bridges over broken streets. Some homes now sit at odd angles inside subsided depressions.
Past Memory Fragment: Your players might recall pulling survivors out of a collapsing home as the ground gave way.
Dungeon Link: The Sunken Quarter rests directly above Soriel’s main labyrinth. Many of the cracks lead into dungeon-access crevices.
The tower of mage Orgon Arum. It is now used by the Children of the Runes to help in the quest of deciphering Spellhold's mysteries.
Current Day: Street vendors and performers return, reviving the once-abandoned space.
6. Hall of Echoes
A place that hosts monuments of those that fell in the war. Great names decorate the place, some honored with statues. Mirilir, Espellekith.
Named for the amber-like glow of its enchanted protective stones.
Current Day: The gate still stands but its magic flickers, producing weak pulses instead of a solid barrier.
Past Memory Fragment: The players once fought to hold this gate until the magical barrier collapsed.
Dungeon Link: Soriel bound one of his most powerful guardian spirits to this area. The door-spirit beneath it is now malfunctioning.
A series of elevated walkways leading to the city’s underground waterways.
Current Day: Half of them have been rebuilt with lighter wood from outer villages.
Past Memory Fragment: The players may remember escorting supplies through the docks during the siege.
Dungeon Link: The docks were built atop Soriel’s emergency escape tunnels.
A grand stone stair carved into the city’s natural slope.
Current Day: Worn by battle and time, but still functioning. Sculptors have begun repairing chipped reliefs along the sides.
Past Memory Fragment: The players rushed down these stairs during the final retreat.
Dungeon Link: Soriel hid one of his most secure entrances here, disguised behind a fountain.
A small structure honoring Soriel, built shortly after the war on the spot he was last seen alive.
Current Day: Flowers, carvings, and offerings decorate the cracked monument.
Past Memory Fragment: The players might recall seeing Soriel give his final orders here.
Dungeon Link: Unknown to most, the foundation of this memorial connects directly to the first chamber of the dungeon.
A complex of towers where the remaining tomes of knowledge of the elves are located. It is guarded by Menos, a sage elf and a love interest of Arilia Spellhold.
