Elven Relic: An elven relic lies at the bottom of Elaris, visible only at dusk.
Goldveil's Mist: A cracked seal beneath the central ruins leaks necrotic mist.
Objective: Find three missing keystones in surrounding towers to rebind the seal.
Silver Tears: Laira's Statue cries tears of silver at night.
Objective: Collect the tears safely before they evaporate at sunrise.
Guarded Entrance: Elven guards have sealed the entrance to the dungeon for the safety of the people. It seems that spirits still reside down there and their power cannot be contained. The spirits block all entry and the Elders don't know how to override it.
Lost Obsidian: Megaris needs Obsidian to craft decent weapons and armor for the guard. There is some that can be mined in the Southpeak Ruins, but the place is too dangerous and the guards too busy.
Ileria’s mind fractures at random moments.
She believes her brother left hidden mnemonic wards around Goualekir during the siege.
Quest:
Recover 3 “Memory Sigils” hidden in key locations (Goldveil, Rust Terrace, Silver Orchard).
Each sigil triggers a short shared flashback for the players — fragments of the past war session.
Outcome:
Ileria becomes lucid long enough to unlock the first magical barrier related to Soriel’s dungeon.
Megaris the Smith
During the war, Nadril’s father Thandaril sought refuge inside one of Soriel’s Living Doors — sentient, dwarven-forged gateways that can seal themselves during emergencies.
Once Thandaril entered, the door activated Containment Protocol, making exit impossible without a special weapon called the Binding-Cutter, a sword he was forging with Megaris.
Thandaril hoped that one day Nadril would finish the sword and free him.
The forge where the blade was begun lies buried beneath the Moonspire.
Travel to the Moonspire.
Enter the collapsed workshop and find the hidden stairway.
Deal with lingering war-born creatures or unstable machinery.
Inside the forge, the party finds:
the half-forged Binding-Cutter
scattered dwarven notes
a broken door-spirit frame
Megaris identifies the blade as Thandaril’s work.
Rekindle a heat-preserved ember bowl.
A fiery memory echo shows Thandaril saying:
“If I cannot escape, Nadril will.
Finish the cutter.”
Runes on the broken door frame point to:
“Soriel’s Third Watcher Gate”
— the entrance Thandaril used.
The party now knows he is alive or trapped behind one of Soriel’s Living Doors.
The Unfinished Binding-Cutter (key artifact for later)
Megaris’ trust and emotional investment
A clear personal connection to Soriel’s dungeon
Knowledge that Thandaril did not die — he is trapped below
“Forging the Binding-Cutter” — gather materials across Goualekir to finish the sword and eventually open the sealed door holding Thandaril.
The ten braziers of the temple must be rekindled to establish a connection with Zera-Ka and the Forgotten Gods. The Old Ember can only ignite them but it died with the old priest Melanos. It can be found inside Arum Tower, hidden in an enchanted box.
