Description

L'moranna, the City in the Branches, stands at the heart of the Hercyn Wildwood as a floating marvel with its many buildings held aloft in the trees or even grown from their trunks and branches. On the forest floor below, the underbrush grows wild and rampant under the influence of the Great Temple of Roxus, and great primeval beasts like the mighty saurians prowl among the utterly colossal trees. L'moranna's people explore the bounty of their rainforest home by trading in herbs, saps, and other plant extracts as well as rare and unique insects. Ogruls and fairies are a common sight in these environs.

The Great Temple

L'moranna is home to the Great Temple to Roxus, goddess of Chaos and Growth.

Demographics

The population of L'moranna is primarily composed of Ogruls and Fairy.

Weather and Landscape

The landscape of L'moranna is comprised of a very overgrown rainforest, which makes it difficult to travel across. The weather consists of periods of heavy rain with bright sun in between, causing the environment to be rather muggy and warm.

Aesthetic

L'moranna takes its inspiration and influence from popular depictions of medieval forest fairies and fantasy "barbarians", the wild/free folk of various settings, and Fern Gully, with clothing that utilizes natural and found materials in few layers.

Industry/Economy

L'moranna is considered a traditional hunter-gatherer society but in recent years it has been more involved with trade. The primary exports of L'moranna are herbs, saps, and other plant extracts as well as rare and unique insects only seen in this part of the world.

Government

L'moranna is guided by the Grove of the Mothers. Despite the name, the gathering is open to anyone who has to act in the capacity of a "mother", that is being responsible for another life. The senior-most members of this governing body are given titles of the great trees in which the people they care for reside. From the Hemlock and the Cypress to the Camphor and the Yew, these matrons pool their years of experience to nurture the younger generations.

Outside observers of meetings of the Grove and those who try to study its procedures are flummoxed to learn that the "institution" is anything but a formal body. It is not bound by any codified laws or established processes. Most meetings are more akin to family reunions, with all the chaos that entails.

Primary mode of transportation

The peope of L'moranna travel via forest trails that need constant maintenance from overgrowth, however there are some areas of elevated walkways built into the trees.

Is this Enclave Fallen?

L'moranna is not fallen. L'moranna's primary defenses are the overgrown rainforest itself providing dense cover from large scale attack as well as their elevated position amongst the trees.
