Source When you use the Salvage activity on any Item or Creature with the Tech trait, you can choose to recover one or more Tech Component Clusters as part of your results, representing generic but valuable circuitry, housings, and sub‑assemblies that aren’t specialized like emitters, nanite reservoirs, or optics.
A Tech Component Cluster is the standardized, “boxed up” form of generic Tech salvage: boards, regulators, heat sinks, chassis elements, connectors, and interface chips that can be dropped into new projects with minimal rework.
Usage
Counts as a generic Tech component for crafting, repairing, or upgrading any Tech item or Construct.
You can apply the component’s full Salvage Value toward the crafting cost of any Item or Construct with the Tech trait—no restriction by item type.
For each Tech Component Cluster you incorporate during crafting, you reduce the crafting time by 1 day (minimum 1 day), representing the time saved by reusing pre‑fabricated housing, boards, and connectors instead of scratch‑building them.
You may combine Tech Component Clusters with more specialized components (Laser Emitters, Nanite Reservoirs, Optics Suites, Shortwave Modules) in the same project; apply each Salvage Value and time reduction separately.
