Cruden One-Eye was once a normal mortal goblin, Frish Spineback, but one of uncommon intelligence and dexterity. He quickly became warrior-king of his tribe by defeating the old King, his uncle, in ritual battle. This was in a land far to the south-east of the current Orin lands.

Unhappy with his lot and the unwaveringly low intelligence of his tribe he left to seek fortune and Power. What he found was an ancient legend of a power known as The Pale God Below.

Power lust soon overcame him and he quested night and day for years for the two artifacts, The Crimson Crown, and The Whispering Dagger. When he finally claimed these two powerful magical items he became a conduit for the Pale God and was reborn as Cruden One-Eye.

Years of battle then ensued with Cruden being able to bring armies of low creatures, goblins, trolls, orcs and the like to hand.

Cruden was finally defeated by Alexandre Dathaway in the final battle near the current location of The Wall of the Orin.
