Kethrick Voss: A captive of the Shadow Claws and a member of the Karin'Vare. He channels a malevolent gaze through a porcelain mask given to him by Horatio Vinvestler and asks Helena to free him.
Garyn Valkar: A Shadow Claw elder who warns Helena about the Watchers and recognizes the light she carries into Tyve's darkness.
Bjork Kavar: Bjork's full name. He publicly rejects the need for his parents' approval and declares himself a Harbinger and one of Skjold.
Queen of Glass: A Karin'Vare ruler whom Horatio helped escape Tyve. She later ruled in Adra and could transform people into glass before Torin and Lyra killed her.

Avaros: A powerful divine figure who intervened during Kypheron's first defeat. Her intervention appears to have prevented the Spear of the Ithelion from killing Kypheron and placed him into an unnatural sleep.
Kypheron: The dragon god kept in an unnatural slumber by the completed Crystallic and Valence Avarith's will.

Karin'Vare: A lost barbarian tribe that once held authority among the united clans. Its members draw power from something beyond the wastes and revere Horatio Vinvestler as their patron saint and conduit.
The Chain: Its servants remain devoted to the Chain after death, and its masters can sense people who are not bound to it.

Watchers: Antlered beings of the dark forest described by Garyn Valkar as shapeshifters, liars, and corrupters. Bjork's mother believes the Karin'Vare may draw power from their true masters.

The Crystallic: The completed artifact once kept Kypheron asleep through its continuous power and Valence Avarith's will. Its final missing piece is held within the Chained Fortress.
Spear of Avorinth: Also called the Spear of the Ithelion. Torin's vision reveals that it did not place Kypheron into his ancient slumber and may have killed him if Avaros had not intervened.
Kethrick's Mask: A porcelain mask given to Kethrick Voss by Horatio Vinvestler. It focuses Kethrick's supernatural gaze.

Starving Darkness: A power manipulated through Ilk at the Twilight Temple to reveal the hidden truth of Kypheron's first defeat.
Deathless Flame: The soul-bearing flame now carried by Silas. It allows Torin to speak with Normandy and begins manifesting new magic through its vessel.
Eternal Flame of Keph: A small white flame created by Ahzarax at Normandy's funeral. It continues burning without fuel as a permanent memorial to his sacrifice.

Iron Lake Cave: An unexplored cave near the Chained Fortress that the Harbingers believe may conceal a route beneath the city.
Chained Fortress: Draxus Kael's stronghold and the location of the final missing piece of the Crystallic.
Shattered Path: A route revealed to Torin by Sethis that may provide a way around the Dios Ostium. Torin shares its existence with Cecil before leaving Keph.

Kypheron's First Defeat: Torin witnesses Valence Avarith hurl the Spear of the Ithelion toward Kypheron before Avaros intervenes and the dragon god falls into an unnatural sleep sustained by the completed Crystallic and Valence's will.
