Characters
Horatio Vinvestler: Explains the schism within the Siphon Order, his selection by Zyltrix, and his suspicion that Draxus Cale fathered Angela Thedon's twins.
Felsis: An Arcanium researcher who stabilizes the Tear after Brill helps him understand its runes and the role of water's memory.
Brill: Helps repair the Tear and discovers a shifting library within Keph. He is the first Harbinger to meet Ephastasia there.
Ephastasia: An ancient Blood Sorcerer and purveyor of knowledge who appears to Brill inside a hidden library. She directs him toward the Deathless Flame but cannot be found when the Harbingers return.
Nixon: Offers himself to Belgor'Vrack, becomes the Blood God's chosen vessel, and shares his new power with Aeris and Arthas.
Aeris and Arthas: The surviving lieutenants of Acuras. Rather than return to their former master's slavery, they accept Nixon's blood, pledge themselves to him, and agree to help defend Keph.
Graham: Arrives at the Twilight Temple aboard a wrecked ship, subdues Kink, and announces that she is searching for Whisper.
Factions and Peoples
The Siphon Order: Also called the Order of Siphers. Its members entered Tyve together before Zyltrix selected Horatio to carry the Ithelion's light, provoking a schism among the surviving members.
Blood Sorcerers: Practitioners whose power flows through blood and their bond to Belgor'Vrack. Nixon becomes their new chosen vessel, with Aeris and Arthas bound to his blood.
The Chain: Draxus Cale's army. Approximately one hundred soldiers and five Rusticulum golems are moving toward Keph and may arrive within two to five days.
Rusticulum: Powerful constructed servants of the Chain. Ernan remembers them as beings that were once human but have become extremely difficult to destroy.
Artifacts and Items
Anchor Ring: The cursed ring Mathias wants delivered to Horatio. Ilk determines that it was forged through malice and deceit, while Mathias later claims that merely offering it has planted a seed.
The Tear: A damaged portal system repaired by Felsis with Brill's help. Its new design uses runes and water's memory but can currently open only once each day.
Crystallic: Torrin briefly wears the seven recovered pieces and feels Kypheron's rage. A concealed stone key joins the artifact, but two larger fragments remain missing.
Hidden Crystallic Key: A tiny stone kept unknowingly among Torrin's possessions. It joins the center of the Crystallic and appears to function as a key or failsafe rather than one of the two missing fragments.
Vyr's Ix Crystal: The soul-bearing crystal containing Acuras. Aeris and Arthas ask for their former master to be released from it, but the Harbingers refuse.
Dark Heart: A Blood Sorcerer amulet made from living victims. It maximizes the restorative power of healing received by its bearer, and Ephastasia recognizes that the amulet has strengthened Brill.
