Episode 22 Glossary

Selendra Cassiandros: Marquis of Gavra who uses a Crystallic fragment to reactivate the city's glint towers. The effort burns her hands and rapidly consumes her life until the Harbingers remove the artifact and carry her toward the harbor.
Torrin: Sees broken Veyan civilization within the advancing storm, removes the Crystallic from Cassiandros, and remembers a Veyan lesson about power, light, and sacrifice.
Helena: Uses the legend of Tyve to awaken the Crystallic twice. Her final ignition restores Gavra's defenses and releases two citizens from the darkness possessing them.
Bjorn: Carries Cassiandros during the escape and is privately confronted by Mathias, who tests his understanding of selfishness, sacrifice, and responsibility.
Mathias Ephelthine: Uses Torrin's communion with the Crystallic to speak with Bjorn. He says Normandy must enter the Ithelion and offers prosperity for Bjorn's people in exchange for cooperation.
Wylas Velpa: Head of the Velpa Trading Company who seizes the Maelstrodomus with his militia, refuses the Harbingers passage, and orders his soldiers to kill them.
Zandra: Fading divine traveler who admits that she is frightened and says Cassiandros's fate is not hers to decide. She remains protected by Lendo and Ned during the flight to the harbor.
Whisper: Searches unsuccessfully for Graham, follows the others to the wharf, and boards the Maelstrodomus during the fight for the ship.

Ithelion: Lost source of Piln's radiance. Its absence leaves Gavra's glint towers powerless unless the Crystallic supplies another compatible light.
Dragon Gods of Old: Unidentified ancient beings heard as wings and screams within the fire surrounding Cassiandros's Crystallic fragment.
Harbinger of Light Prophecy: Helena's understanding of light, hope, and the legend of Tyve allows her to awaken the Crystallic against the approaching darkness.

Harbingers of Light: Attempt to preserve Cassiandros, escape Gavra, restore the glint towers, and take the only vessel believed capable of crossing the Maligned Maelstrom.
Stewards of Gavra: Guards and officials trying to defend the capital while their Marquis burns herself to sustain its failing light.
Velpa Trading Company: Commercial house whose leader and armed militia claim the Maelstrodomus and fight the Harbingers for control of it.
Dread Stalkers: Surviving pirates, including Snakeye Joe and Mate, who regroup with the Harbingers and move toward the harbor with Zandra.
The Vey: Torrin's forgotten people, whose ruined civilization appears within the storm and whose teachings are carried by the Crystallic.
The Chain: Power connected to the Rusticulum breach and the darkness now overtaking Gavra, though the exact relationship between the Chain and the storm remains unknown.

Maligned Maelstrom: Immense moving wall of water, darkness, and broken memory advancing across Scarsden toward Gavra.
Veyan Echoes: Figures and structures from Torrin's lost civilization that appear within the storm and later move through the city as hostile shadows.
Shadow-Possessed Gavrans: Citizens overtaken by the darkness preceding the storm. Helena's final release of light restores at least two of them to human form.
Flooded Streets: Torrential rain transforms Gavra's roads into violent channels while the approaching wall shakes the castle and harbor.

Crystallic Fragment: Artifact carried by Cassiandros and capable of powering Gavra's glint network. It responds to self-giving light but burns those who sustain it.
Maelstrodomus: Enormous Velpan prototype of wood and iron, believed to be the only available vessel capable of surviving the Maligned Maelstrom and reaching Tyve's mainland.
Glint Towers: Gavra's defensive light network, normally sustained by Piln. Cassiandros, Torrin, and Helena use the Crystallic to ignite it temporarily.
Stefon's Vial: Helena's empty vessel, held beside the Crystallic while she invokes the Ithelion and the ancient legend of Tyve.
Marquis's Brooch: Mark of Cassiandros's authority carried by the group as they approach Wylas and the contested ship.

Crystallic Attunement: Direct contact allows Cassiandros, Torrin, and Helena to release the fragment's light, but the power can overwhelm the body or pull the bearer into visions.
Veyan Lesson of Power: Torrin remembers being taught that true power is given rather than taken and that the Crystallic reflects the light within its bearer.
Mathias's Communion: Mathias diverts Bjorn into a private mental space through the Crystallic and attempts to secure his cooperation through promises and questions about sacrifice.
Helena's Invocation: Helena's recitation of Tyve's ancient legend ignites the fragment and channels light through the city's towers.
Radiant Purification: The light released at the episode's ending forces hostile shadow echoes from two citizens and restores their bodies.

Gavra: Capital of Scarsden, now flooding and nearly surrounded by the darkness unleashed after Piln's light disappears.
Sanctorum Obelisque: Portal chamber above Gavran Castle where the Harbingers first see the full scale of the approaching storm.
Gavran Castle: Seat of Cassiandros's government, evacuated as shattered glass, flooding, panic, and the loss of light overwhelm it.
Gavran Harbor: Site of the armed struggle between the Harbingers and Wylas for control of the Maelstrodomus.
Piln: Lighthouse city whose extinguished Ithelion can no longer power Gavra's defenses.
Tyve Mainland: Destination beyond the Maelstrom that the Maelstrodomus was designed to reach.

Cassiandros's Last Defense: The Marquis chooses to burn away her life through the Crystallic so Gavra's people have additional time before the darkness arrives.
Torrin's Childhood Teaching: A Veyan father figure tells the young Torrin that power comes through giving oneself and that inner light can awaken the Crystallic.
Mathias's Offer to Bjorn: Mathias asks Bjorn to help Normandy reach the Ithelion and promises that Bjorn's people will prosper if the ancient power is freed.
Race to the Maelstrodomus: The Harbingers carry Cassiandros and Helena through the collapsing city only to find Wylas and his militia already taking possession of the escape vessel.
Second Ignition of Gavra: Helena's final release of Crystallic light repels the shadows and gives the city another brief chance to resist, but does not end the storm.
