Description

Like a sharp rock jutting from the sea, the Ebon Keep forces its way out of the cliffside of the Bleakmire and the large purple rock from which it was built. The structure resembles a black blade, with its central tower rising sharply toward the cloud-covered sky. Attached to the west wing at the front of the keep is a glass dome, like a greenhouse, but its contents are concealed by frost. A black gate, forged into the bedrock of the geode, appears to be the only entrance.

The edifice extends hundreds of feet down the cliff to the ocean and wears the watery marks of the deep. Its black walls loom mossy and calloused from unyielding storms and clinging barnacles. The green grasses of the Bleakmire appear cold and grey the closer to the keep they grow, and inside the black slits of the towers’ arrow loops, there is a pull of another world: one laden with the tortured souls of the dead.

Near the horizon, the Sequestered Sea meets the Maligned Maelstrom, an unending hurricane. The two churn together, creating an impassable wall of tornadoed water.

Origin

The Ebon Keep was originally created by the Vey, but is now inhabited by the Tangled One.
