Pantheon
The Realm of Pantheon is the oldest world in the universe of Radrum. It is an enormous expanse made up of mini-worlds or realms, all interconnected by Astral Gates and separated by Amber Walls. Pantheon is ruled by the Emperor, a supreme being who appoints Overlords to oversee the various realms.
Overlords
Overlords are god-like rulers who protect and govern a realm within Pantheon. They are revered by the native species of their realm and hold absolute authority. Overlords often delegate the daily governance to kings, allowing them to focus on larger matters concerning their realm and its inhabitants.
Realm Structure
Each realm is linked to others in Pantheon via Astral Gates, though not directly. All Astral Gates lead to a central realm known as “The Hive,” which houses multiple gates, each connecting to a specific realm. The realms are protected by impenetrable Amber Walls, making the Astral Gates their only connection to the broader cosmos. Each realm is powered by a meteorite known as Alas, the “Heart of the Meteor” and the very essence of the Kiseraak. This same essence resides deep within the crater of Vitallia. The meteorite gives life to the realm and activates the Astral Gates. Since this heart belongs to a living creature, each realm is itself a living Kiseraak, a being of immense power that sustains its realm with life force, nature, water, atmosphere, and other natural phenomena.
The Emperor
The Emperor is the supreme ruler of Pantheon. Throughout the history of the universe, only a few entities have been deemed powerful enough to hold this title. The Emperor’s power surpasses that of the Luvar and all other divine ranks. As the leader, the Emperor commands the Overlords, regardless of their divine status, ensuring that Pantheon functions smoothly. Pantheon is known for being far more authoritarian than the planes that have separated from it. Historically, the Luvar and other beings who left or were exiled from Pantheon sought more freedom and autonomy, driven by ambition and a desire for independence. The Emperor wears an amulet made from fragments of meteorite from each realm, symbolizing their authority. The stray Luvar who fled to Vitallia in search of power managed to sustain their pocket planes outside of Pantheon through another energy source: the faith of the people of Vitallia.
Realm Populations
Each realm is home to a distinct species, shaped by its environment and history. However, the areas surrounding the Astral Gates are often bustling hubs where species from various realms converge. These frontier settlements, known as Astral Zones, are centers of trade, diplomacy, travel, and adventuring. Astral Zones are considered neutral ground, where even Overlords wield limited authority and must answer directly to the Emperor in matters of conflict or disruption. As one ventures deeper into a realm, they move beyond this shared space and into regions of strict dominion, where the Overlord’s authority is absolute and unchallenged. These inner territories are more rigidly controlled and culturally uniform, with far less racial or ideological diversity. The deeper one goes, the more they encounter the realm’s original essence, and the unblinking gaze of its master.
