Note: Humanity in this setting also includes the following races: Tieflings, Genasi, and Aasimar.
One of the most adaptable races, humans are found all over Ignisar. The origins of humankind are a subject of great debate, with theories ranging from evolution to arrival from another world through glowing gates. Historically ambitious, humans expanded their territories through both conquest and trade.
Their relentless pursuit of power during The Throne War led to the horrific creation of the Subjurforged, monstrous weapons that ultimately turned on their creators and destroyed the human kingdom of Arnewynd. Now, the remnants of that empire live in a self-imposed exile in "Arnewynd's Endure," forever burdened by the consequences of their past actions. Despite this fall from grace, humans remain a significant presence in Ignisar.

In rare cases, humans may be born touched by extraordinary forces, their abilities shaped by unique circumstances or the influence of their parentsâ encounters with elemental, infernal, or celestial power. The children often display signs of their heritage from a young age such as glowing eyes, unusual auras, or innate magical talents. Sometimes to distinct typical humans from their rarer counterparts, they are referred as a "AltĂŠhuman."
Itâs a fact that bards love to joke about, though historians quietly nod in agreement.
Humans will literally bang anything, and their children often inherit a little of whatever theyâve gotten themselves tangled with.
Elemental-blessed
Born of elemental influence, The elemental-blessed carry the essence of fire, water, air, or earth within them. Their powers often shape both their personalities and the lands they inhabit, and they are drawn to roles where their abilities can make a impact.
"Way back, some dumbass decided to skinny dip in lava, snort powdered stormclouds, or let an earth elemental pound âem into the groundâliterally. Turns out, if you fuck around with the elements, the elements fuck back. Their kids crawl out screaming fire, pissing lightning, or farting whirlwinds.
Fiend-touched
Marked by physical infernal heritage, Fiend-touched face suspicion and prejudice, yet they often turn this adversity into strength. Many seek to carve their own path, blending cunning, charm, and a touch of menace to navigate a world wary of their kind.
"Simple story: somebody bent over for a demon. Couldâve been for power, couldâve been for pleasure. Now their descendants walk around with horns and glowing eyes. Call it cursed, call it kinky. Either way, you know someoneâs great-granddaddy got raw-dogged in Muspellheim."
Celestial-kissed
Touched by celestial influence, Celestial-kissed are often guided by a sense of higher purpose. They serve as beacons of hope, mediators, or warriors against darkness, carrying an aura of inspiration that shapes the people and places around them.
"Not all divine encounters are holy...Sometimes an angel swoops down, spreads those shiny wings, and seduces the farmerâs wife âtil the neighbors can hear hymns in the fields. Nine months later, out pops a brat that they call a Celestial-kissed, though really itâs just proof that angels get horny too.â
Dreamchild
Humans that were exposed to the Realm of Dreams. From an early age, they display an ethereal quality, most notably the ability to summon translucent wings that shimmer like moonlight. These wings are not always physical, often fading in and out as though caught between reality and reverie. Dreamchildren are gifted with insight, creativity, and a touch of otherworldly mystery, walking a path between the waking world and the dreamscape.
âSome poor bastard fell asleep, and woke up sticky with more than night sweat. Maybe they fucked a dream spirit, maybe the dream spirit fucked them. Itâs all hazy. Either way, A kid pops out with the ability to sprout see-through wings like a butterfly made of moonlight. A Dreamchildâs whole bloodline is basically one long wet dream.â
Dragonchild
Dragonchildren are the result of a mortal actually bedding a dragon, while others trace their bloodline back to such a union generations ago. Whatever the case, draconic essence lingers in their veins, granting them a unique spark of power no ordinary human can claim. Whether revered or mocked, Dragonchildren carry a reminder that somewhere in their family tree, someone quite literally fucked a dragon.
âBards will tell you Dragonchildren are born of ancient pacts or draconic blessings. But the drunk guy at the tavern will just laugh and say, âNah, mate, your ancestor took a dragon's dick and liked it.â And honestly, the glowing eyes, the scaly skin, and the spectral wings? Hard to argue. If dragons ever write history, half the chapters will probably be about who they fucked.â
Creature Type: | Humanoid |
No other race can thrive in so many diverse lands or environments as Humans. Although weak with The Breath, their technologic advancements and adaptability made humans thrive. Humans were once the dominant species on Ignisar, but after the destruction of the kingdom of Arnewynd, they've struggled to hold their ground.
Humans allied themselves with Dwarves and Chromalith during the "The Throne War" and came into conflict against the Luminary. This great conflict had no victors... After the Therianthropic Convergence, their creations "The Subjurforged" turned against them which lead to a chain of events in where the once great empires of humanity became a distant memory.
Humankind has no traditional subraces, but some humans possess a unique brand marked on their body that connects them to other planar influences of other supernatural beings.
