This realm and this story has same-sex and interracial relationships, they may be brought up as part of the lore.
Example A: Wolffolk are very traditional and at a young age are assigned an 'intended mate' of the opposite sex. There are those who experience difficulties with this due to their biological preference.
Example B: The Kingdom of Arnewynd was destroyed during the Era of Beasts by the Therans (Beastfolk), many humans may disapprove of Theran-Human Relationships.
Example C: The Luminary are extreme isolationists, they may have laws against intermingling with other races, banishing the outcasts from Aurora.
As you may notice, half-elf and half-orc are not available as race-options, because they don't appear in Ignisar. However that doesn't mean that interracial children don't exist.
You can choose mixed ancestry for flavor and appearance, yet your dominant traits are always determined by your mother. (So that also includes your chosen statblock.)
However there's a 0.1% chance that the father's race is dominant, which can lead to unique appearances but also expectations. These offspring are named "Sireborn".
Example A:
Offspring of Hordeling Father and Human mother have pointier ears and a unique skin pigment.
Example B:
Offspring of Wolffolk Father and Deerfolk Mother could possess minor traits matching their father. They could have smaller horns, or perhaps even more more shaped like claws.
Talk to your DM if you wish to play a mixed origins, so you receive some backstory information about possible stigmas or prejudice that your character may have faced or experiences. Discuss with your DM the options for minor/major traits if they aren't normally supported by the rules.
Simply put: crossbreeding is possible with all races, yet the offspring is based on the mother. If possible: there's a 0.1% chance to be the father's race.
Races that would biologically be incompatible, can create Sireborn offspring which usually is a unique amalgamation of both races.
