"It's a quite beautiful place. The volcano over yonder adds a little bit of a, whatchamacallit, ominous somethin'-somethin'. If ya'll catch my drift." - W. W. Friedman
The largest settlement in Eir Andusk, it is considered to be its defacto capital. Consisting of ancient dragonborn structures and recently constructed urban areas. In the last decade it has grown into a melting pot of Kildarian cultures after taking in many exciles. It has grown considerably in size and hugs the straight inbetween it and Ahr Fin on the coast of Dovah.
Many sailors call its port home and it is a somewhat vibrant trade hub to inhabitants of Eir Andusk and those who skirt the law and ignore the Lord's Alliance restricions.
It is the home base of the Eldritch Inquisition Remnants navy and is the port of call for the McTennite Family and (what is left of) the Order of the Black Shield.
It consists of 3 distinct districts, Old Naal Ok Zin, the Fairweather district and the Kobold slums. While not officially a part of the city, the villlage of Ahr Finn on the oposite bank of the straight between them has started hosting more and more facilities that have outgrown the confines of Naal Ok Zin, like harbours and defensive structures.
First starting out as a small fishing settlement between the Kun Hofkah lighthouse and the castle of Golz Wahlaan, it soon grew in size when more and more dragonborn came down from the northern island of Dovah, eventuall growing into what is known these days as "Old Naal Ok Zin".
In later years, Armathar's influence motivated kobolds to flock to the island and settle on the south western edge of the city, building what appears to be a shanty town of tents and apparent ramshackle buildings characteristic of kobold architecture.
With the defeat and subsequent excile of the Eldritch Inquisition from the Kildarian mainland, many members settled in Naal Ok Zin. This prompted the creation of the Fairweather district, which is now host to the many other races found all over Kildar.
