Not much is really known about the nature of the world or just how truly old it is. Much of what came before was lost during the Wild Age, a period of wide-spread chaos and anarchy as the very power of creation bled into the world unchecked. Pure potential without a will, this primordial energy reacts to the wants and stray thoughts of any intelligent creature within proximity of it in unpredictable ways, resulting in wide spread destruction as events could range from minor to cataclysmic in scale. Very little of what came before survived this period in time, although there are still some places in the world that may hide secrets of the past.
