Overview

Hugging the eastern side of Salaige, the fertile land of Dunshar has long been a hub of civilisation, thanks to its extensive grasslands and bountiful wooded valleys. Moreover, the land conceals a wealth of natural resources and other wonders underground, owing to the territory's previous history of volcanic activity.

The valleys, plains, and highlands within Dunshar's central regions experience warm summers and mild winters, whilst the eastern coast is subject to the turbulent weather of the Wildersea, whose storms batter the shores frequently. This adds a bit of variety to the otherwise pleasant weather of the region, with frequent rain, fog, high winds, and similar weather, particularly within its coastal regions.

While avoiding much of the devastation wrought on Salaige during the fall of Ito and the empire's collapse, centuries of industrial farming and mistreatment at the hands of the The Urisian Empire have left the land in ruin and its people scattered and vastly reduced. Once the cradle of humanity within Salaige and a shining example of civilisation, the land now hosts many smaller nations fighting over the bones of their once-prosperous kingdom and the old empire that once enslaved them.

It is worth noting that the vast majority of Dunshar shares its border with the ocean. What little land connecting Dunshar to the rest of Salaige is bottlenecked by mountains and capped by a region known as the badlands, a cursed area of arcane anomalies, unusual volcanic activity, and even more unusual monsters. This goes some way towards isolating Dunshar from the rest of the continent, as not everybody has easy access to a boat, few are willing to brave the dangers of the mountains, and fewer still are willing to throw their lives away in an attempt to cross the badlands.
