“You’ll be certain to send me to the next life properly.” He rumbled. His rival nods solemnly. “A warrior’s death, Khultan, was always your fate. I always knew this day would come. Are you certain I cannot convince you to stay with us?” The Khultan snorts from a greying snout thoughtfully. “I’m certain. Now, lift your weapon and we’ll see if your fate is to lead the warherd.”
Believing that combat, though not necessarily killing, cleanses them of weakness both physical and mental; They are bound by a warrior code to accept any direct challenge issued to them. The Herataur believe in the cleansing power of Hera, their god of fire and war.
The proud Herataur might resemble a minotaur at a glance. Crowned with impressive horns and manes that frame a powerful body. They have long ears and beastly snouts. Depending on the realmstar they were born on, they can have differing features. Those of Ghardion and Inferna, known as Khazramet, have hooves and tufted tails while Nheran Herataur have wolven paws and tails.
Males and Females are both imposing and covered in muscle with no majour dimorphism. The Orron Herataur tend to be more slender and their fur wooly.

The first Herataur were said to have come from an infernal Realmstar of fire or earth where war and pride shape the minds of all. The influence and proximity to Nhera’s faerie aether has given them aspects of grace and fey beauty, particularly in the Orron subspecies.
Herataur can be any profession, but their inclination toward warfare means even bards will pen songs about mighty battles and their sorcerers are less likely to be bookworms.
A leader of Herataur, called Khultan, decides the direction his or her people will take. They are decided by ritual combat at the formation of a tribe or clan and every few years thereafter. The Khultan decides if their tribe will be peaceful nomads, raiders, or something else and it is their sole responsibility to decide if their people will go to war.
Herataur names are adopted their homerealm, Ghardion, where legions make war and strong mythology influences their beliefs. The surname is usually half common and half Braylore when they interact with other peoples, in an attempt to embrace the two worlds they come from. Surnames commonly feature elemental influence along with a word in Braylore.
