Overview.

Skintone.

Trollish skintones vary wildly, though certain colours are more common in some regions. Jungle trolls are often obsidian to grey or jewel-greens. Mountain trolls are usually silvery-pale to sapphire. Desert/plains trolls often appear in hues from onyx to bronze or gold.

Fur and Mane.

Just like skintones, Trollish fur varies incredibly and will often reflect nature around them- helping them to be the great hunters they are. Their fur coverage can be total, which is more common in colder climates, or more commonly partial; With the arms and legs, shoulders, neck and back covered. The tail is only rarely without fur and often tufted.

Their mane is usually just a slightly different texture from their fur and allows for grandiose styling opportunities, which Trolls love. It's growing phase is much longer than body fur and can achieve grand lengths that can sometimes rival even the most long-lived races.

Tusks.

Though not every troll has tusks, they're very common, particularly in mountain trolls.

Ears.

Very long, typically downward-pointing tips.

Tail.

Most commonly furred and with a modest tuft at the end.

Hybrids.

A fairly common mixed breed is Tuatha and Trolls. Despite their differences, they have some overlapping cultural values that see bonds between the two form more easily than perhaps between others. The offspring, if choosing an elven fate, will often be far more slight than other trolls but possess much of or all of the typical fur coverage of trolls. Tails pass down as often as they do not. Offspring that moreso resemble the Trollish parent will usually have more pronounced tusks, nose and build; And will always have a troll's tail.
