The Quint'rath or the Five Houses are governors and advisors who assist the King in organizing the government. They live upon the floating islands suspended by ancient magic above the wastelands and ruins that scar the surface of the Heartlands. The houses recently returned to selection via royal decree, for the first time in centuries. This has led to a significant upset. Records on the previous Great Five can be observed in the tab at the top.

House Wintergarden, stewards of Magic

Image

Matriarch Adra Wintergarden is the newest member of the Quint'rath after succeeding her late father, Arjahn. She, like her father, is a gifted mage but is not well respected by her peers. Being the only Matriarch serving on the council she is pressing against much tradition to serve as she does. Many argue she should sire a son quickly to take her place.

House Pryor, stewards of the Army

Patriarch Marrix Pryor II, formerly Sergeant Pryor, took his mother's place on the council upon returning home from the Marrowfiend campaign. He has been fearlessly dedicated to assisting Atraxia transition into the new era they have won for themselves. His status as a decorated war veteran has made him rather popular, politically. He took the name of his late father shortly after his death in honor of the Warden's sacrifice for Atraxia's long awaited victory.

House Virconia, stewards of the Work

His Majesty's house, House Virconia, ascended to the Quint'rath after House Azudine was bereft of their title by H.L.M. Bar'hamir. Since H.M. is unable to attend to the minor matters of leading his house the duties have fallen to his Vizier and eldest cousin, Patriarch Aramis Virconia who is now responsible for orchestrating the re-assignment of Atraxia's greatest asset, her sons and daughters.

House Sycar, stewards of Bahamut

Image

Patriarch Torin Sycar is the Archbishop of Bahamut and has led four decades of peaceful worship of the Silver Judge. Everywhere Torin walks he is met with deference, failure to do so might incur suspicions of heresy. These may be fiercely punished by Korin Sycar, the Grand Inquisitor and Torin's firstborn daughter.

House Verdine, stewards of the Coin

Patriarch Balasar Verdine has faithfully served in the unenviable position of managing the nation's limited money. As a country opposed to the idea of foreign relations in the past few years, he has faced almost unlimited criticism. Balasar recently adeptly sidestepped a coup attempting to oust Verdine from the Quint'rath. His scarred face bears a ever present reminder to any who would attempt something so foolish again.
