The only weapons allowed on the field are weapons that have been approved by the combat team at Inspection
Never bring live weapons onto the combat field, even a pocket knife or butter knife.
In addition, you are expected to check your weapon for damage before taking it on any combat encounter. If you aren't sure, have it rechecked by a Marshal, we'd rather be safe than sorry.
No punch weapons of any kind will be allowed as they are designed to be punched which is inherently risky in our game type
Throwing weapons are the only throwing weapons and you will be told if you are allowed to throw something at Inspection
No thrusting with weapons that are not thrust safe Spears.
Only Strike with the striking surface of your weapon, never the pommel, guard, tip or flat.
If you are using a flail and it gets caught up in another players kit, drop the flail.
Always grip your weapon safely. One handed weapons must be held by their grip. Two handed weapons must be wielded with both hands (a maimed arm cannot wield a weapon).
Strikes that contact your weapon or shield before hitting you do no damage
If you strike someone’s weapons or shield, it should be with the same force you were to hit them with. Don’t break through the block.
Anyone can use any type of weapon, they are not locked behind CP.
If you have an arrow nocked on your string, you must stop moving.
Archery is not allowed at night.
Weather conditions (most often high wind) could cause the Marshal to not allow archery. You will be told before you step through the gate if this is the case.
Always aim chest or below.
Never fire at anyone closer than 10 ft, and shorten your draw for targets closer than 30 ft.
If you are using a crossbow, never fire at anyone closer than 30ft.
Avoid arcing shots if possible.
Never shoot through narrow gaps or obstacles
Never use your bow as a melee weapon or as a defensive weapon. Don't block shots with your bow.
You must do a safety check of your arrows before you fire them.
Never toss aside an arrow if it is damaged, leave it on the ground or hand it off to a Marshal if they are nearby.
