How to Loot

When you have killed an enemy, they might have Loot on them! This could be items the person was carrying, useful parts you can take from a monster, or things the enemy picked up from the environment. If you want to Loot an enemy you have to spend 15 seconds doing appropriate roleplay (pretending to pat down the body, miming cutting off limbs etc) to do so. Call "Loot!" before you start your roleplay and begin your 15 seconds of Looting rp.

If you are interrupted during the 15 seconds, you have to start over. Its important that you do not actually touch anyone while you are looting them, and do not actually pick through a downed NPC's pockets. If they have loot, they will hand it to you after your 15 seconds are over.

What does Loot look like?

Loot will be in a small pouch that the NPC can keep in their pocket. It will have whatever their Loot is inside. This can range from resources, currency, enchanted items, alchemical items, or even unique items for the specific enemy. The bag will usually be labeled with the type of enemy that it came from but not always. You can NEVER take a downed enemy's weapon, shield, etc. Retrievable Loot will always be in that small pouch/bag. Some NPCs might have more than one bag of loot on them so remember to always LOOT THAT BODY!

I found an Enchanted Item/Alchemical Item card in my Loot bag!

Great! DO NOT READ IT!!!!! The only people who can actually identify (aka read the card) Enchanted Items are Enchanters and the only people who can identify (aka read the card) Alchemical Items are Alchemists. Someone can also perform the Aurasense ritual to identify an item. Make it a fun RP moment of having a mysterious item that is clearly magical but you have NO IDEA what it does. Become the meme from Arthur, you are DW and that card can't help you because you can't read.

I'm an NPC with no Loot and I am being Looted

Hilarious, don't tell them. Wait until the 15 seconds are up and get up and go to respawn. You are under no obligation to tell the PC that you have no Loot or that you have Loot. Keep it mysterious, and let them wonder who has loot and who doesn't. Typically if the adventure involves needing to get Loot, the players will inherently want to Loot every single NPC they drop. Let them try.
