Metal armor should be free from any tears or sharp edges and be constructed in a way that prevents it from tearing.
All armor should be constructed in such a way to prevent rough edges. IE rolled edges on metal or leather edging on plastic (anything that prevents a rough edge is acceptable)
Armor should be free of any pointed, hooked, or sharp features that might snag on clothing, skin, or weapons.
All Armor must be checked at Inspection.
To be considered wearing a full set of armor you must be wearing that armor type on 2 regions of your body. Body regions are defined as Torso, Arms, and Legs. This means you can be wearing bracers and a breast plate of the same armor level and be considered "fully armored." (examples include plate metal bracers and a metal breast plate, leather pauldrons and greaves, a chain shirt that covers your torso and arms etc)
Anyone can wear any kind of armor, armor types are not locked behind CP
Shields must be made in such a way that they will not damage weapons
All Shields must be checked at Inspection
Strikes that contact your weapon or shield before hitting you do no damage
If you strike someone’s weapons or shield, it should be with the same force you were to hit them with. Don’t break through the block.
Never bash, charge, or punch with a shield.
Shield Pressing is allowed as defined as making contact with an opponent's Shield and applying slight pressure to move forward.
Shield Hooking is allowed for Hand Axes only, and only to move a shield aside or stop it from moving. Your Axe should not remain in contact with a shield, or pull a shield towards you under any circumstances. If your hand axe becomes trapped, you must let go of your weapon.
Anyone can use a shield, shields are not locked behind CP
Light Armor
Light Armor can be any armor made from padded or quilted cloth or flexible leather. Anyone can wear Light Armor. Examples include a gambeson, thick leather jerkin, quilted chausses etc.
Light Armor increases your base HP by +1. You must be fully armored in Light Armor to receive this benefit.
Medium Armor
Medium Armor is any kind of hardened leather or non-plate metal armor. Anyone can wear Medium Armor. Examples include hardened leather bracers, a leather lamellar cuirass, a chainmail shirt, scale mail spaulders etc.
Medium Armor increases your base HP by +2. You must be fully armored in Medium Armor to receive this benefit.
Heavy Armor
Heavy Armor is any armor made of plate metal. Anyone can wear Heavy Armor. Examples include a solid metal cuirass, metal lamellar breast plate, a coat of plates, etc.
Heavy Armor increases your base HP by +3. You must be fully armored in Heavy Armor to receive this benefit.
Heavy Armor allows you to ignore the impact of Cleave, though you still take regular damage from the hit. You must be fully armored in Heavy Armor to receive this benefit.
Helmets
Helmets are defined as any headwear that looks like a helmet that could feasibly protect your head from a blow. Anyone can wear a Helmet.
Helmets increase your base HP by +1.
Bucklers
A Buckler is a small shield that is less than or equal to 16 inches at its largest measurement. Anyone can use a Buckler.
Bucklers do not protect you from Cleave, but any other Strike to a Buckler takes no damage.
Bucklers can be used while wielding a bow.
Shields
A shield is a large shield that is more than 16 inches at its smallest measurement and no larger than 36 inches at its largest measurement. Anyone can use a Shield.
Shields protect you from any damage that hits them, including the Cleave.
A Shield strapped to your back does not block any damage.
You cannot wield a weapon in the hand you are wielding a Shield.
You cannot use a bow while using a Shield.
