In the Realm of Liminalis LARP, players and enemies have the ability to become invisible for a certain duration. Due to the inability for people in the real world to become invisible, there will be a lot of theater of the mind involved with this particular part of the game. These rules should help players learn how invisibility works in-game and how to use the invisibility mechanics.
Players and enemies that are invisible will be wearing a large blue sash. If they are not wearing the blue sash, they are not invisible. If your character has the ability to become invisible, you should carry a blue sash with you to use this ability. To activate your invisibility, please put on the blue sash and when your invisibility time is up, remove the blue sash.
As with other items you can interact with in combat, please make sure you are in a safe place when interacting with your blue sash. We don't want the sash to get in the way of combat, such as getting tangled up in a sword and causing a dangerous situation. If combat starts while you have your blue sash on, please finish that combat and find a safe place before removing it.
While invisible, you can walk or run past enemies without being seen and you can even interact with items. However, if you attack an enemy, your invisibility will immediately drop. If this happens, please remove the blue sash when it is safe to do so. Also, if for some reason you start making noise (such as talking or yelling), your invisibility will drop, and you should remove the blue sash. As a result, the use of any Calls will also cause invisibility to drop.
Some NPCs may have the ability to become invisible. Obviously in real life you will see a person or creature sneaking around with a blue sash on, but please try your best to pretend you do not actually see them. We are depending on some level of trust with you as our players not to acknowledge or track this NPC waiting for invisibility to end. Make us proud.
While you are playing an NPC, you should recognize when a character is invisible and not attack or interact with them unless they do something that would drop that invisibility (such as attack you, or attack your comrades, or start making sounds). Please do not track the movements of these characters in anticipation of invisibility dropping.
The blue sash may not be obvious or visible during nighttime adventures. As such, we can provide an additional set of small blue lights or blue glow sticks to help illuminate the sash. If you plan on using your invisibility at night, please let staff know and we can provide these additional items.
