Female Wood Elf "Pathogenist" Apothecary

Elowynne

Elowynne was born among the woodlands of Westemär, but she remembers little of her earliest years. When she was still a child, her parents moved to Drakkenheim seeking opportunity in the great capital. For a brief time, life was good. Her father found work, her mother Arwen cared for their modest home, and the city seemed full of endless possibilities.

Those dreams ended when her father fell gravely ill.

The sickness lingered for months. Physicians, priests, and herbalists all failed to help him. Elowynne was too young to understand what was happening, only that her father grew weaker each day until he eventually passed away. The loss left a permanent scar on both Elowynne and her mother.

In the years that followed, Elowynne's unusual magical talents began to emerge. Representatives of the Amethyst Academy soon took notice. Recognizing her potential, they offered her a place among their students. Arwen encouraged her daughter to accept, believing it would provide a future she could never otherwise achieve.

Life within the Academy was everything Elowynne hoped for. Surrounded by scholars, laboratories, and magical research, she immersed herself in study. While other students pursued prestige and advancement, Elowynne became fascinated by medicine, disease, and the mysteries of life itself. If knowledge could not save her father, she vowed to acquire enough knowledge that it might save others.

Then came news that changed everything.

Years after the meteor destroyed Drakkenheim, Elowynne learned that her mother had become afflicted by contamination. At first the symptoms seemed minor, but over time Arwen's condition worsened. Strange mutations appeared alongside a wasting illness that no healer could explain. Every report Elowynne received painted a darker picture.

The Academy viewed contamination as a problem to be studied.

Elowynne saw her mother dying.

With the Academy's blessing, she began conducting field research into contamination, mutations, and the strange effects of delerium. Officially, she remains an Academy researcher pursuing valuable knowledge. Unofficially, her work has become deeply personal.

She is searching for something the world increasingly believes impossible:

A cure.

Elowynne trusts in evidence, experimentation, and reason. Faith offered no answers when her father died. It offered no answers when Drakkenheim fell. It offers no answers now as her mother's condition worsens. Others may place their hopes in gods, prophecies, or miracles.

Elowynne places hers in science.

And if a cure exists anywhere in the world, she intends to find it. Even if she must venture into the ruins of Drakkenheim itself to do so.
