In the ancient reckonings of Poseia, the Yrwin are the "Second People," birthed by the world itself rather than the direct handiwork of the High Gods. They are the living pulse of the forest, formless spirits given flesh in the wake of Varangr and Auðmaer’s sacrifice. While Mankind builds empires of stone to defy time, the Yrwin live as part of the land’s own eternal cycle.

I. The Dwellers of the Forest

The Emerald Kin The Yrwin are the sovereign inhabitants of Gwylenn, where they dwell within an ethereal tapestry of verdant forests and untamed wilderness.

  • The Breath of the World: They were not forged or birthed by the gods; they burst forth from nature itself—from the breath of trees, the shudder of rivers, and the heartbeat of mountains.

  • Form and Foliage: Adorned in vibrant green hues that echo the vitality of the woods, their hair cascades like ivy, often interwoven with living flowers and leaves. Their footsteps are as silent as the rustling of leaves, navigating the emerald canopy with a grace born of instinct.

II. Knowledge Holders

The Lineage of the Leaf The Yrwin do not seek to dominate the world, but to understand its song. They are the scholars of the soil and the guardians of the hidden clearings.

  • The Symbiotic Way: Their abodes are crafted with a delicate touch, blending seamlessly into the lush foliage to preserve the sanctity of the earth. Within these living dwellings, they commune with the ancient guardians of the woods, seeking guidance from the spirits of the forest.

  • Herbal Lore: Possessing an intimate understanding of every flora and fauna in their domain, the Yrwin are masters of herbal remedies and natural healing. They harness the hidden powers of the forest's embrace, weaving melodies that resonate with the murmurs of streams and the songs of birds.

III. Stewards of Nature

The Silent Guardians As the footsteps of the "Third People" (Humanity) echo louder through Poseia, the Yrwin have moved from wild isolation into a role of weary stewardship.

  • The Harmonious Balance: Though they once fought the Valäälar in the War of Awakening, the Yrwin—taught speech and wisdom by Ættǫrr—eventually chose a path of peace. They now serve as the mediators between civilization and the wild.

  • The Eternal Bond: They offer guidance to those who seek to understand the sacred interconnectedness of the world, teaching the value of preservation. To an Yrwin, every breath is an inhalation of the forest's essence; they remain the steadfast guardians of the green, nurturing the lifeblood that sustains Poseia’s vibrant tapestry.
