Era of the Hunter
... 1 BC
The Era of the Hunter is characterized by the Arrival of the Gods in the world of Vitallia and the Great War between the Gods, the Sentinel that was given birth by the planet itself, and the Hunter God that was summoned later on by the first mortal mages.

The Creation of the Races
Celestial / Cosmic
During the war in Vitallia, the Gods fought fiercely to seize the power within the Crater, resulting in monsters roaming the land. To counter this, the Sentinel created various races with unique powers. The Shanah, made of fire, met an early demise. Gargoyles, with stone and fire, observed from high places. The Erathiel, with wings and wind, could swiftly convey information. Elves, with roots and fire, worshiped nature. Humans, formed from stone and water, were industrious but short-lived. Dwarves, made of rock and fire, were stable and resilient. Brutgors, with red rock and fire, were fierce fighters. After creating these races, the Sentinel dropped its defenses, allowing monsters from the Crater to emerge. These disfigured creatures, born broken and purposeless, spread across Vitallia, seeking solace in warrens during summers to ease their fury and hatred.

The Civilization of the Shanah
Disaster / Destruction
The Shanah were the firstborn of the great Sentinel. Said to live for a hundred years, they spread across Vitallia and flourished in distant corners of the world. Yet their time was tragically brief, brought to an end by a series of devastating events. Many perished when the Amber Cell was woven, giving rise to the Darklands. Others fell to raiders in the Southern Seas, while northern expansion by the Freefolk claimed even more. Scattered remnants were hunted and slaughtered throughout mainland Vitallia. Despite their short-lived presence and constant persecution, the Shanah built a magnificent civilization, one whose secrets remain hidden to this day.
Records: Scholars believe the Shanah were divided into seven great tribes, broadly categorized as Stone Tribes and Hawk Tribes. The Stone Tribes were builders and settlers, rooted in specific regions where they established complex societies. The Hawk Tribes were nomadic, roaming Vitallia in pursuit of knowledge, power, and spiritual understanding.

The Books of First Magic
Scientific achievement
Through the kingdom of Goliath, Meriel was granted entrance to The Cell, and with the help of the magic of the Gargoyles, she entered the barren lands of the sealed continent in secret, in search of Misandria. The two of them met by the river banks of Erel, after months of traveling. Near the black river, Misandria arrived, escorted by a small personal guard. Her health was in dire states as she was carrying the four children of Nedel, knowing that her labor would end her life as well. The mutation caused by The Cell affected her and the children that would be born of her as well, and Misandria trembled before the Black Seeds that would be brought into the world. She trusted Meriel with the Books of First Magic and asked her to make up for the damage that had been dealt upon the world from the arrival of the Gods and of Nedel, as she had come to believe that the Quest of the Gate had been a failure of unforgivable repercussions upon Vitallia. In the hands of the young witch, along with the Books, comes the responsibility of guarding The Crater against the hordes of monsters that reach the surface of the world and threaten the balance of Vitallia.

He travelled from city to city and offered comfort to the mutated creatures who suffered from this terrible injustice from a war that was brought to them without choice. The people of the west followed him quickly, proclaiming him Mentor and Savior, a Messiah, a mutated Knight King who suffered alongside them. King Nedel formed the kingdom of the Cell, the dead cities of the West where its people could live without food or water or trees, feeding upon the power and energy of their leader, a giant black cloak that kept them alive in a state of undeath.

Maskavara, so immense that it could consume entire constructions, creatures, weapons, and buildings, continued its destructive path through the dwarven city. Unable to harm the creature's exterior, the dwarves undertook a perilous mission, entering the creature's mouth to confront it from within. Despite facing the corrosive acids within the creature's stomach, thousands of dwarven warriors fought valiantly, inflicting multiple wounds on Maskavara until it succumbed to its injuries. The city of Asgramon, though ravaged, gradually underwent restoration, and the rebuilding process ensued. Treaty of the Root
Disbandment
In 1204 AC, King Meleborn Whiteshield of Lothen formally lifted the long-standing restrictions on magic and sought to make amends for the damage caused during the era of the Runik Movement, a dark chapter in history marked by the persecution and suppression of magic-users across the continent. Decades earlier, during the height of the prohibition, the Kingdom of Rose came under heavy assault by the Brutgors of Armoria, a barbaric people from the southern mountains. In desperation, the Rosian crown invoked the Treaty of Thorns, appealing to Lothen for military aid. However, the Lothenian court, still deeply entrenched in anti-magic policy, refused to intervene unless Rose agreed to adopt the same laws and purge its magical institutions. Rose stood its ground and rejected the demand. The result was years of brutal raids and destruction along Rose’s borders. With its magical defenses crippled and no help from its supposed ally, the kingdom suffered greatly. King Meleborn, inheriting the throne in a time of reflection and transition, acknowledged these failures. As an act of reconciliation and renewed diplomacy, he signed the Treaty of the Root, strengthening the fragile bond once established by the Treaty of Thorns. Unlike previous accords, this treaty was not about dominance or submission, it was about healing. Under its terms, Lothen sent seven thousand men and women, not as soldiers, but as builders, healers, scholars, and protectors, tasked with rebuilding damaged cities, restoring arcane institutions, and protecting vulnerable border regions. Many among them were families of former exiles or magic-users seeking new beginnings. To mark the turning of an age, Meleborn issued “The Apology of the Lion”, a royal decree that promised lands, titles, and protection to all magic-users willing to settle in Lothen and aid in its magical revival. His dedication to restoring the dignity of the arcane earned him the name Meleborn the Admirer. The Treaty of the Root became a cornerstone of peaceful relations between Rose and Lothen, binding the two kingdoms more closely, not through conquest or force, but through shared rebuilding, reparation, and respect for magic.

Lothen's Daughter
Expedition
In 1986 AC, King Legendary Figure Template answered the call of Goualekir, the eastern realm under divine threat, and prepared Lothen for the long-foretold return of Nedel the Hunter. Bladefall, believed to be one of the Four Chosen Cities in ancient prophecy, was bound by fate to take part in the coming war. Thus began the formation of the Army of the Daughter, a united force drawn from across the Forkland vassal states. King Vheod summoned the full might of the Lion Army, but Sarta refused the call. The Sartans claimed their blood had been spilled too often for Lothen’s wars, and they would not bleed again for a prophecy born in the East. This refusal sparked a rebellion. However, with the threat of Nedel’s return looming large, King Vheod could not divide his forces. Pressed by the greater danger beyond the horizon, he chose to march eastward and delay dealing with the uprising. Sarta seized the opportunity, declared autonomy, and severed its formal ties to the Forklands. Despite Lothen’s later attempts to reassert control, Sarta remained free, thanks to a covert alliance with the South Freelanders. Smugglers and riders carried arms and supplies through Dragoria’s passes into Sartian hands, in exchange for the promise of a shared frontier free from Forkland influence. Over time, Sarta’s autonomy hardened into a reality that even Lothen’s court begrudgingly acknowledged, though tensions simmered beneath the surface. By the time the War of the Daughters began in 1990 AC, the cracks in the Forklands had already begun to show. And when Lothen turned its eyes west again, it would be toward a defiant Sarta, no longer just a rebellious vassal, but a kingdom in its own right.
