Lothenian Skills

Quintain

(Combat Style)

A new Combat Style Skill that allows a character to fight as a mounted lancer and is a requirement for a Lothenian knight to be included in a heavy cavalry lancer unit.

Requirements: Armor Proficiency, Heavy Melee Weapons, Riding
Untrained: N/A
Unlocks Domains: Offence, Defense, Mobility

Note: In Mounted Combat Mode (Book of Heroes), it is implied that a mounted warrior needs one hand to handle the mount, therefore cannot wield a heavy lance. This combat style alleviates that restriction. When the knight rides a trained warmount (not just any mount), the following benefits are conferred:

  • May use both hands for weapon or shield and guide the mount with knees and verbal calls.

  • May use a Heavy Lance with one hand.

  • When Charging with a Horse, half of the mount’s Mobility points must be spent (more may be spent if desired, but it isn’t necessary).

Cavalier

(Combat Tradition)

This is a tradition for cavalry lancers. These abilities substitute the Mounted Charge action while retaining all of its mechanics. Although not required, many Lothenian knights and cavaliers learn this tradition.

Requirements: Offense (1), Defense (1), Mobility (1), Quintain

Would you like me to add some visual enhancements (like tables or colored code blocks for abilities and effects) to make it look like a rulebook page?
