“Old rites, new trouble.” ~ Shepherds Table elder

The Pale Temple stands a day's journey north of Shepherds Table, across the river on a low rise. It’s built of white stone, and folks say it predates the Scourge. Some claim a rite here helped bring on the Hatching. The floor shows shallow channels, the court is ringed by standing slabs with bowl-like hollows, and the main altar hums in the teeth when weather turns. Competing cults lay claim to the place, and the Pale Offering treats a visit here as a rite of pilgrimage. Locals steer clear when white cloaks are on the trail.
