During the Scourge, sealwrights and sentries served inside individual vaults. Their work focused on maintenance, hazard monitoring, and last resort protocols. After openings began, their successors took on an outward mandate. They surveyed sites, judged readiness, and supervised unsealing. The Wardens of Return were formalized to prevent tragedies born of haste.
