Hyenakin are sometimes referred to as "Gnolls", the origin of this word is unknown.
Hyenakin are a humanoid race that most closely resemble human-hyena hybrids within Ignisar. They are carnivorous humanoids, known for their savage culture and warlike ways. They do not appear to have any relation to Therans despite their similarities. Records suggest they have existed for millennia, long before Therans appeared on Ignisar. Hyenakin are extremely tall yet relatively lean for their height. Their skin is greenish-gray, and their fur ranges from light to dark brown, sometimes marked with spots or stripes. Many also have a dirty yellow to reddish-gray crest-like mane that stands on end when they are angry. Some believe that Hyenakin have traces of demonic blood, evidenced by unusual features found in certain bloodlines. These may include talons, gleaming red eyes, or black fur with fiery orange spots.
There are many different types of Hyenakin, including those who use elemental magic, as well as hunters, warriors, summoners, and gorgers.
Hyenakin will stalk their target until it is vulnerable.
They typically do not engage difficult targets such as carriages, yet attacks have become more frequent since 248 A.T.C.
Hyenakin have been observed using bait, sacrificing it in order to achieve greater goals.
They also have a tendency to take hostages and sacrifice them in order to create or summon more Hyenakin or Witherlings.
