The Council of Seven is a governing body with a profound influence on the Sevenfold Commonwealth of Ignisar. It comprises representatives from six Theran species—Foxfolk, Wolffolk, Deerfolk, Taufolk, Harefolk, and Bearfolk—alongside the seventh, Humanity. These delegates convene alternately in the city of Velvetglade during the Autumn and Winter seasons and in Spellwhisk during Spring and Summer seasons, upholding a tradition of governance that echoes through the annals of time.
Known for their diplomatic acumen, the Council of Seven has fostered alliances with numerous prominent factions across the Sevenfold Commonwealth. This includes but is not limited to the Prismworks Consortium, the Voidbreakers, the Gearforgers Conclave, Velvetglade Weavers and the Free Roads Guardsmen. These affiliations contribute to the council's role as an anchor in maintaining the Sevenfold's stability. Their authority extends not only to matters of local governance but also to projects that transcend the borders of individual domains. Decisions of such magnitude require unanimous agreement among the council members, emphasizing the collective nature of their rule.
The Council of Seven is characterized by both continuity and consensus. A position on the council is held for life, although voluntary retirement or mutual agreement among council members may lead to the removal of a member. At the helm of this council is the Leader, the eighth member, who provides leadership and direction in their deliberations, but has no direct vote in decisions, except for an exclusive right to veto, which is not often enacted.
