The Plains of Orange stretch across fertile expanses of Concordia, a network of small settlements woven among golden fields of grains, cotton, and orchards of fruit trees.

The land is vibrant and abundant, sustaining a thriving population and providing food to the entire region. Yet, its richness is a double-edged sword: the plains attract all manner of wildlife, from harmless herds to dangerous monstrosities, forcing settlers to remain vigilant and maintain strong defenses.

However, since 228 ATC the disturbances in the plains have grown more frequent and dangerous. Monsters and strange magical phenomena, once rare, now appear with increasing boldness, testing the limits and courage of those who live in the heart of the fertile expanse.

To preserve this prosperity, the Plains are safeguarded against desertification by the remarkable irrigation system known as the "Shield of the Oasis."

Designed by Thalga Fyreward, a young and brilliant dwarf from Sâdbarad. This intricate network of channels, reservoirs, and subtle magical conduits keeps the soil fertile and the crops thriving. The Sâdbarad dwarves and locals maintain the system diligently, ensuring that even during harsh seasons, the plains continue to flourish.

Over time, however, the locals have grown overly reliant on the Shield of the Oasis, neglecting natural defenses, leaving them vulnerable should the system ever fail.

The threat of desertification looms constantly from the southern Sunfire Expanse, a harsh region of relentless sun and shifting sands. Without the Shield of the Oasis, the fertile fields of the Plains of Orange would be at the mercy of advancing dunes, scorching heat, and creeping aridity. The irrigation system acts as both lifeline and barrier, holding back the encroaching desert and maintaining a fragile balance between abundance and ruin.
