#012 Convergence & Consequence

Driven by curiosity, Vita, Naomi, and Thalga proceeded into the closed-off Hall of Historics. There, the ladies found a large stone-like statue identified as the Subjurforged. The statue communicated directly with Vita, confirming it knew her father and calling her “mistress.” Overwhelmed by an impulse, Vita touched the statue, instantly shattering the petrification and reverting it into a living, monstrous creature.

At the very moment Tayleon and Rose entered the Hall of Historics, the creature immediately unleashed a devastating necrotic beam. Tayleon took the full force of the blast, trying to shield Rose. Rose was thrown violently against the wall, losing consciousness.

Rose awoke elsewhere, standing among the ruins once dedicated to Harmonia, near her hometown of Kall-Carie. There, she encountered her sister Snow, who was practicing a light spell. Despite hearing a strange noise coming from the forest, Rose instead spoke with her sister about practicing the spell. When Rose suggested allowing the light to go free rather than holding it, the spell multiplied, splitting into several smaller lights.

Guided by intention rather than force, Rose directed the lights toward two statues of Harmonia’s priestesses. Something within the stone responded, briefly illuminating, as though acknowledging her presence.

A disturbance drew Rose and Snow toward the forest. Rose followed the sound to find a giant bear wreathed in a strange purple aura, attacking a dwarven man who had been preparing to swim in a nearby lake. As Snow froze in fear, Rose intervened by striking the bear with a beam of light.

The distraction allowed the dwarf to equip his arcane armor and grapple the bear, coming moments away from killing it in self-defense. Snow pleaded for the dwarf not to hurt the bear, while Rose cast a powerful healing spell in an attempt to cure and calm it.

The bear eventually settled, its aggression fading, and the dwarf was rescued. He introduced himself as Attabey-e-Ab (Girokh Fyreward), Councillor Fyreward and leader of the Fyreward Council. Shortly after, his granddaughter Thalga Fyreward arrived, having been gathering resources nearby. She quickly realized that her grandfather wasn’t just interested in the local plant life—he had been trying to find an excuse to take a swim in the lake.

Grateful for their aid, Councillor Fyreward thanked Rose and Snow. The two young ladies escorted him and Thalga toward Kall-Carie and the White Spire of Harmonia to meet with their mother, Callista White.

As Snow and Rose walked ahead of Girokh and Thalga, Snow turned to Rose and thanked her for her determination and fearlessness during the encounter with the bear. Rose responded that she had acted instinctively. At that moment, Snow grabbed Rose’s hand and spoke clearly: “And now, you have to be brave again.”

Instantly, Rose is brought back to the present...

Meanwhile...

As the Subjurforged attacked without warning. Naomi reacted immediately, calling upon Legend Gilgamesh. He appeared before her with his eyes closed, wearing purple chains. Naomi asks him why, and he answers that he fear's what would happen if he looks at the creature. Gilgamesh warns Naomi that once she speaks the words, that she'll have to carry a heavy burden.

Gilgamesh, Embrace The Sun!

As Naomi speaks the words, the mysterious Sun Card starts to glow, releasing a burst of light that surrounds Naomi, changing her clothes into a unique blend of her own style and Gilgamesh's armor. Naomi's weapons became enhanced by the unique strength and powers of him. Immediately, Naomi & Gilgamesh engage the creature in battle together.

As Rose wakes up, surrounded by fire and seeing Tayleon's body on the ground...
The flames are about to reach him, Rose grabs hold of his unconscious body, summoning her golden wings and dragging his body to safety, as she manages to stabilize him.

Vita pushed herself beyond her limits, using her meta-magic to escape danger, trying to protect Naomi, only to trigger a catastrophic surge of Wild Magic! She causes a chain of wild bursts of power, all her hair falling out, quickly regrowing and falling out once more! To even just completely disappearing for a few seconds!

Two masked figures joined the fight, intent to help the ladies ward off the Subjurforged Lion Monstrosity. Despite the chaos, the group gradually gained ground. Naomi & Gilgamesh struck the creature with devastating force, while Thalga and Rose extinguished flames to clear the area.

The Subjurforged creature lashed out viciously, its necrotic weapon recharging as it weakened. Rose retaliated with a dark hex, hearing an unfamiliar voice in response—one that unsettled her deeply...

Naomi faced with having to deal the last blow, realizing that the creature was about to fire off yet another destructive beam, slashes its cannons off its body. As the lion squirms in pain in the last moments of its life... It eventually stops moving...

Guards and the Headcleric Anvari, along with her husband Naqshgar arrived shortly thereafter, confronted by destruction, and no clear explanation. As the other clerics tended to escort other people away from the temple. Headcleric Anvari demands an explanation of what happened, frustrated by their trespass and the damage done to sacred ground.

In the aftermath, Tayleon was being tended to, and escorted the The House of Healing as authorities secured the area. Anvari tells the ladies that this section of the temple was off-limits, declared so by Einar Giedensera himself, but when the ladies brought up that the door was open... Anvari mentioned that this would have been impossible, as the door was sealed with magic, and the only arcane key was being worn by Naqshgar.

Thalga manages to prevent another disaster by shouting to step away from the Subjurforged's corpse, as Theran guards were approaching the leaking blood. Thalga's story is backed up by someone else that appears, Luxidor Leonidas Jr.

Image

Anvari, seeing Luxidor becomes even more frustrated, Luxidor confirms that the guards really should learn to pick up a history book, informing them that the Subjurforged's blood could infect others. Anvari immediately scolds Luxidor, demanding him to get out and that "She'd better not read anything about what happened here!" The guards then escort Luxidor out of the Hall of Historics.

With no clear narrative, accountability fell heavily upon them. Naomi openly expressed remorse, but it changed little. Naomi, Thalga and Vita take responsibility for what happened, and tell that Rose didn't want to trespass. Despite their honesty, Anvari criticized Rose for not standing her ground to prevent her friends from trespassing.

Unfortunately, the bad news doesn't end there... Another cleric, named Khemsi arrives that during the chaos, an ancient tablet artifact has disappeared and is no where to be found, something or someone used the chaos caused by the Subjurforged to take the tablet.

Thalga, Naomi and Vita are arrested. Weapons and equipment were confiscated. Rose, overwhelmed and unable to maintain composure, sought guidance from Harmonia before being escorted away by the other cleric.

Rose was escorted by Khemsi to the House of Healing in the Verdant Gardens, where Tayleon was being treated. Cleric Rhidoni asking Rose any information she has on what happened to him, Rose confirmed to her his injuries were caused by a necrotic energy blast, and the corruption now visibly spreading through his skin, slowly turning it grey.

As Khemsi returns, she asks Rose to still have herself be treated as well. As Rose holds the Solaris Orb, a magical artifact that responds to her, she senses within the light, an unsettling darkness within its glow. Ridoni and Khemsi inform that they'll be providing Tayleon with Sunlight Therapy since conventional healing doesn't seem to do much for him, which would be the best chance of recovery.

The rest of the group was transported under guard, blindfolded and separated upon arrival at the holding cells. The correctional officer introduces themselves as "Argent", Naomi realizing he has a similar appearance to the other silver dragonfolk that she had met earlier at The Drake House.

He informs them that they are encouraged not to use any spells here, as the spell will bounce back as long as the arcane sigils are active. Thalga recognizing the type of sigils linked to the Idol Uniter Siegfried. The holding cells are all located in a circle, and the ladies meet some of the other prisoners, a wolffolk man named Gilliam of Howl's Edge, and a pouchfoot named Loras.

Some of the ladies immediately take a disliking to Loras, while Thalga recognizes the name Gilliam, he was the original supervisor at the Howling Reserve, and mentor to Aiden.

Argent mentions that he'll be supervising them until a trial or until one of the Stewards of Solaris addresses their situation, as he's still short on the details of their current imprisonment, and eventually leaves to tend to other business.

Vita, Thalga and Naomi's discussion turned inevitably to the events at the temple. Vita’s role in the incident weighed heavily on her... This couldn't have been just a coincidence. Vita might have been the catalyst, but not the sole cause.

With no where to go, Naomi goes to lie on the bed, Thalga finds a book in her cell, and Vita sulking about the loss of her hair, something unexpected happens. The holding cells of Gilliam and Loras are suddenly walled off!

Kaedlin arrives, Vita crying as she's relieved to see her. But all the ladies notice that Kaedlin appears exhausted and cautious. She berates Vita initially for causing all this to happen, but Naomi immediately defense her that it wasn't her fault entirely.

Kaedlin reveals that she had been deliberately creating a distraction for Einar to allow Vita and the other ladies to discover more. Thalga tries to bring up that the truth of what happened at the temple is going to leak out, Kaedlin warned that exposure of the truth would result in widespread mind-wipe by Einar, mentioning that her family has been tried to carefully tend Einar for over two centuries.

Kaedlin then mentions knowing about Vitharr/Viða and desperately wants to prevent Vita from ending up there. The ladies notice that she's still holding back, and when she attempted to say more, invisible chains manifested, inflicting severe pain and forcibly silencing her. The more she tries to say, the tighter the chains become, starting to choke her. Vita stops her from saying anymore.

Image

Kaedlin asks who all knows what happened, and the ladies inform them about the clerics, Tayleon, Anvari, Naqshgar, and that Luxidor also made an appearance. Kaedlin doesn't take kindly to this. The ladies also mention the masked individuals, and Kaeldin wonders if it might have been members of The Covenant, suggesting that perhaps Amarissa could help...

Naomi asks Kaedlin if there's a way for her to get them out of here quickly, but Kaedlin responds that first she'll need to handle the situation at hand, because if Einar finds out, it would all have been for nothing. Like Gilgamesh, Kaedlin mentions to "Find The Mirror" because it might be the only way to stop Einar.

Kaedlin leaves frustrated, leaving the ladies in the jail...
