Snippet 1 | Callista & Snow White

A short conversation between Callista Gracia White & Snow Mathilda White.
Which roughly took place in the year 245 ATC.

“You seem nervous. Are you alright, Mother?”

“Nervous? No, Snow. I am fine. Just a bit impatient.”

“What has you worried?”

“Well... you know our dwarven allies in the south, yes?”

“Yes, Mother. Why does that trouble you?”

“A few weeks ago, the dwarven Pact of Three elected a new leader for the Suspected Pact council.”

“Oh, I heard about that.”

“You did?”

“Yes. During Father's visit yesterday he mentioned it. The council selected Atabay Et Ab as the new representative. He is acting as leader now, and the council is changing its name to the Fyreward Council.”

“Ah. I see. How is your father doing?”

“You know Father. Always juggling too many jobs.”

“Ah.”

“Does that upset you, Mother?”

“What do you mean, Snow?”

“It has been over three years since the separation. We never really talked about it.”

“...”

“I am sorry if I overstepped.”

“No, no. It is fine. Perhaps you are right. I have not spoken much about it with you or with Rose.”

“Let us know if you ever want to.”

“Snow... have I... ?”

“Have you what, Mother?”

“Have I failed you and Rose as a mother?”

“Why would you think that?”

“Perhaps I put my own feelings about the separation before what you and Rose needed.”

“... I am not sure how to answer that. I cannot speak for Rose, but to me...” (gets cut off)

“No. Perhaps you should not answer. I am sorry for asking.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, Snow. Why do you not go find your sister? I still have work to finish at The Spire.”

“Mother...”

“We will talk more later. I just need some time.”

“I...” (gets cut off again...)

“Oh, and Snow. If you are going out of the city, please stay within the ruins. Some of the clerics mentioned an increase in wildlife activity.”

“Of course, Mother. We will not go beyond the ruins.”
