🌳 The Elder Tree

Location: Town center, just off the town square, beside the entrance to The Lone Beacon

Description:
Towering above the rooftops of Timberfall Hollow, the Elder Tree is a massive, silver-barked sentinel believed to be older than the town itself. Its broad canopy of deep green leaves offers welcome shade in the warmer months, casting a dappled light over the cobbled square below. The tree’s roots rise gently from the earth like low benches, and the townsfolk have added sturdy wooden seating around its base, turning it into a natural plaza.

In spring and summer, children play beneath its branches, couples linger at dusk, and merchants rest their feet beneath its limbs. During town festivals or announcements, the Elder Tree becomes a gathering point—its presence grounding and timeless. In winter, when snow dusts its branches, the tree is often decorated with hand-carved charms and ribbons tied by local families in honor of the passing year.

Cultural Significance:

  • Common Meeting Spot: Villagers say, “I’ll meet you at the roots,” when planning to gather here.

  • Living Monument: Local lore claims the town’s founder chose this spot specifically because of the tree.

  • Symbol of Stability: Town legends tell that as long as the Elder Tree stands, Timberfall Hollow will endure.
