Before gods, before queens, before faith itself—there was the wild. And we were its breath.

Elemental Wanderers

Primari are elemental beings touched by the natural forces of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Their origins are mysterious, often tied to places of elemental power or born spontaneously where nature’s energies run strongest. Many primari grow up within human, dwarven, or elven societies, aware of their differences but not defined solely by them.

Primari may find themselves drawn to ancient places, to the deep caves of forgotten ruins, or to groves and waterways resonating with their elemental heritage. This pull generally isn't overpowering, but manifests as a subtle instinct that tends to shape their paths.

Appearance

Primari appearance varies based on their elemental lineage. Some can pass easily among humans, their differences limited to hair that moves like drifting smoke or water, eyes that gleam with unnatural depth, or skin with a faint metallic sheen. Others display more overt elemental features, such as cracked stone-like flesh, molten veins, or hair entwined with living vines. While their exact appearances vary, all Primari bear the unmistakable mark of their connection to the elements.

Mysterious Origins

Primari enter the world through a variety of ways:

  • Natural Birth: A primari might be born to human, elven, or dwarven parents, especially in regions of strong elemental magic. These children grow up largely integrated into the culture that raised them, even if their abilities set them apart.

  • Spontaneous Appearance: Some primari manifest spontaneously in areas saturated with elemental energy. Such individuals might awaken fully grown, with faint memories or impressions of the world around them.

  • Elemental Adoption: Elemental spirits might gift a child to a village, leaving them at a doorstep or on the banks of a river. These communities react in different ways; some see them as a blessing, while others regard them with suspicion due to their unnatural origins. Regardless of whether they are welcomed or feared, they are always treated differently, set apart by the mystery of their existence.

Primari age at roughly the same rate as humans, with lifespans slightly extended due to their elemental vitality. Most primari mature around 20 years of age and may live a century or more.

When a primari’s time ends, they do not leave behind bones to wither—they return to the world that shaped them. For instance, Pyresworn might flicker into embers on the wind, and a Tideborne may dissolve like mist upon the water.

Elemental Personalities

Primari often feel subtle connections to their elemental lineage, shaping their personalities or guiding them toward specific paths:

  • 🌿 Oakheart primari often prefer diplomacy, adaptability, and gentle solutions, but can be stubborn when defending what they believe in.

  • 🔥 Pyresworn primari tend toward passionate, bold, and expressive behaviors, occasionally struggling with impulse control.

  • ⛰️ Stonehewn primari are often calm, steady, and pragmatic, favoring long-term planning and measured responses.

  • ⚔️ Glintforged primari value discipline, focus, and precision, thriving in structured environments or skilled trades.

  • 🌊 Tideborne primari often display flexibility, freedom, and subtlety, often enjoying exploration and avoiding conflicts when possible.

Note: These are tendencies, not rules. A primari can embrace, defy, or struggle with their nature—an Oakheart who acts rashly, a Pyresworn who fears their own fire, or a Tideborne who craves stability can make for great character conflict.
