"FUCK OFF, Get out of my sight!"

Dawn’s history is shrouded in mystery, with most of what’s known about her coming from rumors and her own unpredictable behavior. It’s unclear whether “Dawn” is even her real name or a title she adopted for herself after her descent into chaos. What is known is that she was once a respected member of society, an upstanding sourceweaver from E'fa Sylvagroth, the grand capital city. However, her life took a dramatic turn when she discovered her ex-husband’s infidelity.

Heartbroken, betrayed, and consumed by rage, Dawn snapped. She unleashed her powers over Source magic, not with the elegance or grace typical of a sourceweaver, but in a frantic and destructive rage. She began to tear apart the very city she had once called home, burning and crumbling buildings in a fit of vengeful fury killing her husband in the process. Her attacks were wild and unpredictable, aimed at anyone or anything that reminded her of the betrayal she had suffered.

Her destructive rampage earned her the attention of the Magisters, who were forced to contain her powers and eventually send her to Fort Joy, hoping to lock her away before she could cause further harm. The fact that she was one of the first to arrive at the camp is telling, Fort Joy wasn’t built to hold someone like Dawn, but it became her cage nonetheless. She has since made it her mission to make life as difficult as possible for the others around her, particularly the Magisters who she holds responsible for her current situation.

Current Situation:

A year has passed since Dawn arrived at Fort Joy, but she has made no effort to adapt to the camp's rules. She refuses to work or engage with the other prisoners and sees herself as above everyone else. The camp’s daily routines are a joke to her, and she delights in making life difficult for the Magisters and any authority figures who try to enforce them. Dawn is quick to make snarky remarks, throw insults, and even physically challenge anyone who dares to cross her path. If anything, she seems most alive when she’s antagonizing others.

Dawn has no intention of cooperating with the camp or its inmates. She spends her days either sleeping or eating, indulging in whatever comforts she can find, though her methods are rarely polite. She may scavenge for food, beg for scraps from the kitchens, or simply take what she wants by force. In short, she’s a constant thorn in the side of those around her.

Though she no longer uses her powers to destroy everything in sight, Dawn’s sour attitude and harsh words have the same destructive effect on the morale of those nearby. She knows how to get under people’s skin and has perfected the art of riling up the other prisoners, especially the Magisters. Still, there’s an undeniable raw power within her, one that even she is unsure how to control. Her magic may have been triggered by her emotional turmoil, but its destructive potential is still a force to be reckoned with.

Personality:

  • Defiant: Dawn is fearless, stubborn, and refuses to conform to any system or authority. She sees herself as an untamed force, and she has little regard for the rules of Fort Joy or the people who enforce them. She won’t be controlled or manipulated, and she enjoys pushing people’s buttons.

  • Reckless & Self-Destructive: Dawn’s actions are often impulsive, and she does not shy away from dangerous situations if it means taking a swing at someone who has wronged her. Her life now seems to revolve around finding ways to make her own existence known, even if it’s at the expense of others.

  • Vengeful: At the core of Dawn’s motivations is a deep, lingering rage. Her ex-husband’s betrayal shattered her emotionally, and she has never forgiven herself or anyone for what happened. Her need for revenge is not just external, but internal, as she constantly battles the feelings of worthlessness and anger that plague her.

  • Cynical & Sarcastic: Dawn’s sharp tongue is one of her most dangerous weapons. She doesn’t mince words and enjoys making sarcastic comments, especially at the expense of the Magisters or other people she perceives as weak or hypocritical. Her humor is dark, and she doesn’t shy away from pushing people away with her biting remarks.

  • Lonely: Beneath the anger and the arrogance, there’s a deeper loneliness that Dawn tries to ignore. The destructive path she’s chosen has left her isolated, and despite her refusal to admit it, she longs for some form of connection or purpose.
