"Look, justice is important and all, but it’s not going anywhere. Meanwhile fruits, pies, breads all of that. It’s not gonna stay good forever."

Personality:
Rolan is the epitome of “going with the flow.” He does just enough to avoid being fired and always seeks the path of least resistance. His easygoing attitude makes him likable among the locals, who often humor his laziness, but it frustrates his fellow magisters and higher-ups. While Rolan avoids conflict, he’s no coward, if truly pushed, he’ll step up and surprise everyone with his competence, but he prefers to stay under the radar.
Rolan has a dry sense of humor and a knack for deflecting criticism with a shrug or a joke. Despite his apparent laziness, he genuinely cares about his family, and his softer side comes out when he talks about his little sisters or reminisces about his parents. His tendency to eat while working has become somewhat of a running joke among the people of Sylwood Hollow, who often gift him food to see if he’ll patrol a bit longer.
Background:
Born and raised in a small Elkfolk village on the outskirts of Yddelia, Rolan grew up surrounded by a loving family. His parents instilled in him the importance of duty and hard work, values he half-heartedly embraced. As the eldest sibling, Rolan often looked after his two younger sisters, who adore him despite his laid-back nature.
Becoming a magister was less of a calling and more of a convenient opportunity. The job provided a steady income and a reason to move to Sylwood Hollow, where the bustling markets and diverse cuisine appealed to his love of food. However, his reluctance to fully commit to the role has resulted in a stagnant career and constant reprimands from his superiors.
Motivations:
To maintain a comfortable life without overexerting himself.
To never set foot on a boat. Let alone a boat that isn't tied down to the docks.
To save enough money to eventually settle down and open a small tavern or food stall.
To keep his family proud of him while keeping the reality of his work ethic hidden.
