Artemis roams The Feywild with her hunters, slaying fearsome creatures and protecting the plane from incursion by Shadowfell on an endless Hunt. She serves as an ever-alert guardian and is revered as a protector in both The Feywild and The Material Plane.
Artemis is a wild and free hunter, who leads her own independent group of warriors and refuses to be tied down by strict military structures.
Artemis takes the form of a young woman, dressed in hunter's garb and armed with a bow and arrow.
Many who follow Artemis train to use the bow and arrow. Priests and such adorn themselves with the symbol of the bow and arrow, typically marked in wood or leather.
Artemis is largely concerned with matters in The Feywild, but she has been known to bless those of The Material Plane who show an interest in hunting down threats of their own.
Some see Artemis as a heroic guardian, others see her as a brutal hunter of her own kind. She has earned the title "Slayer of the Mad Ones" because her and her hunters seek out and cut down Feywild denizens who are suffering from The Curse of Immortality.
Artemis is Apollo's twin, although their relationship has been strained ever since Artemis cut him down before he could be consumed by The Curse of Immortality.
Artemis is best known for denying Reaper and No'vel's commandment of change, using her magics to gift her hunters with immortality which preserves their youth. When a hunter begins to show symptoms of The Curse of Immortality, the rest assist Artemis in slaying them.
Dedication and Patience. Never abandon a hunt, no matter how long and difficult the road.
Typical Followers
Most who worship Artemis hunt alone or in small groups. Many rangers and druids worship her, those who live adventurous lives close to the wild. Soldiers embedded in strict military structures tend to feel as little kinship with her as she does with them.
