Named for, or perhaps the namesake of the moon Asur.

Both Asur the moon and Asur the god-being are fairly interchangeable in the minds and psyche of the Elves.

As Asur the moon has a habit of hiding in the sky, day or night, due to its colour and peculiar orbit- it represents mystery, illusion and the unseen world. To elves, this is likened highly to their Aethersense and heightened awareness and perception of other beings and their environment.

Asur is a being of fears, the dark, and advocates for the monster lurking within all things. Many Drâihari revere Asur, believing that releasing their darker side is what unlocked their inner power and allowed them to survive past the dark days.

Meanwhile, many Valari fear Asur. It's often believed that to give in to Asur is to release one's inner demons and open a figurative Pandora's box; one's dignity and wise council compromised forevermore.
