Brandonsford Artifact Security

The ghost of Sir Brandon beseeches you to go to Brandonsford, to the crypt below the city, and secure the artifacts being kept safe there. The artifacts once belonged to the Cold Prince. Sir Brandon senses that someone has been within the old crypt “recently”. He says the town of Brandonsford can be found to the north along the Adriel Way.

Session Events

Including monsters encountered and treasure collected.

  • Detained and questioned the last wereboar.

  • Counted one hundred sixty-four hogs, thirty-two of which were mutant wereboars. (The remaining hogs worth about 40 gp.)

  • Herded the mutant wereboars to town, paying the guard (Rotherborne Soldier named Silence Westerbold) with a large amount of fake gold for the livestock tax.

  • Brought the wereboars to the temple and convinced Father William to transform two a day back into people in the town square in exchange for your silence about his deal with the now deceased Jack the Pigman. (500 xp)

  • In the town square, two mutant wereboars were returned to human form—Valentin Portenlong and Poppy Greyburn—and hired to work the pig farm for a copper piece a day—paid one hundred days in advance.

  • Stayed the night at the homestead; Ghesh fed two stay dogs some bacon.

  • Set out on a stormy morning for Brandonsford, traveling north along the Adriel Way.

  • Found a hole at the base of an oak tree in the early evening, deciding to hide the wagon (and surround it with warding stones) and descend.

  • Within, killed three ghouls (60 xp) and found an old leather glove.

  • Callum shrunk and squeezed through some roots, giving treasure to the root-faced wall in exchange for “information.” (Ghesh lost 80 gp to the roots.)

  • Headed north, encountering the malfunctioning apparition of a wizard giving an indecipherable warning.

  • Found a transportation ring of runes beneath an ornate rug, sent a dagger and a familiar through to the other side.

  • Found jars full of one-inch-tall dead people (buried them) and a bottle containing two scrolls (scrolls as of yet unknown).

  • Continued to the west, accidentally freeing the hunter by looking into the mirror.

  • Narrowly avoided nine giant spiders under the archway.

  • Escaped into the hall of kings and were set upon by the spectral hunter and his hounds, the fight attracting the attention of four more ghouls.

  • Killed the hunter (200 xp) and one ghoul (20 xp).
