Archipelago of the Arcanum Chromatica

Lashing rain, clashing thunder and lighting, a dragon chained to a rock, grown almost too large for its slave-rings. It is to be sacrificed, its magic returning to the Arcanum Chromatica, as always must happen once a dragon has outgrown its rings. A lower wizard of the Arcanum presides over the ceremony, citizens from the nearby town in forced attendance. A green shooting star slices through the clouds and smashes down nearby, shaking the earth—the Gith have arrived.

The Archipelago came into existence in ancient times, when a meteor crashed into the ocean, forming the outer islands and the inner peak. The meteor brought the dragons. In time, a group of wizards learned of the dragons and their power. Seeking to claim that power for themselves, they traveled to the Archipelago and enslaved the dragons and drained their essence, using powerful magic. But the Gith, who hold the dragons as sacred, want to kill the wizards and everyone who’s ever helped them.
