Spent some time in the Golden Egg Tavern hiring retainers; successfully hired one—Lady Hilda; failed to hire two others (the dwarf was because of Eggmar’s bad reputation).
Set out along the North Road in search of signs of the missing merchants.
Near midnight, found two ransacked wagons behind a hill near the road; there, the party was attacked by four animated skeletons; though Hilda and Maverick almost lost their lives, the skeletons were defeated. (40 xp)
Camped for the night; near dawn, a sprite turned Shevatas’s ear into one of a donkey; he woke the party and they gave chase, finding the sprite dancing upon a rock; after some bargaining, the sprite returned Shevatas’s ear to normal with his promise that he would save the sprite’s sister (Alfwine) from a necromancer who’s taken up residence in a barrow to the south.
In the morning, traveled south, searching until finding a barrow that was indicated by skeleton tracks—the barrow was the Barrow of Nameless Heroes.
Inside the main entrance, carved words upon double stone doors warned of a curse, so the party found a different way inside—through a narrow cave.
Within the cave, found a treant, who mistook the party for undead so they fled.
Further in, they found a sword of Saint Ludann covered in blood and slime, which they took after cleaning it off.
Creeped past a carrion crawler atop a nest of bones and treasure.
Found an effervescent pool of water that proved to have healing properties.
A running total of the value of all treasure, including coins, to be sold and split amongst the party upon returning to town.
