The road east of Daring is now quite well travelled, so a path can be seen worn into the hillsides leading towards the low trees and standing water of the swamp colloqiually known as the Frog Bog. The travel is quiet, taking about 11 hours on foot, skirting the northern edge of the Southern Woods.
In the early days of Port Ffirst, the path was a difficult one. As you reached the edge of the swamp (about 4 hours from the port), two crude wooden signs could be seen - the first reading 'Don't Follow the Lights!' and the second reading 'Seriously, you'll die!' Passing that, a winding path through the swamp, sometimes through shin-deep water, though a few small wooden platforms had been constructed to make the way easier, eventually leading to Port Ffirst, a haven from the muck.
Nowadays the route has been built up significantly, and while wandering from the path is still not advised, there is a safe enough route through the swamp.
The Frog Bog is of course, imaginatively named, given the large population of both Bullywugs and Grung in the area - the Grung being more recent arrivals.
