Overview

Solena is Imperion's cursed corner, a dark province at the empire's southern tip, broken long ago by a cataclysm and the corruption of the Nihilith. Twisted forests, shattered stone, and the ruins of a lost civilization sprawl beneath the Weeping Mists, a fog that shifts through green, purple, and blue and carries whispers to those who linger. Few live here: survivors, scholars, exiles, and scavengers, all of them wary, all of them drawn by what the ruins still hold.

Geography

Solena lies at the far southern end of the Aegios peninsula, a land of jagged rock, gnarled woods, and mist-drowned valleys. Its rivers run an eerie green, the Abyssal Streams, and its low country rots into the corrupted swamp of the Endless Mire. Everywhere stand the ruins of the age before the cataclysm, some bent, twisted, or hanging impossibly above the ground.

Life and Rule

Solena holds two cities of note, both built for war against what haunts it. Durantium, the fortress-city near the heart of the corruption, stands behind trenches, walls, and wards, its militia and hired blades patrolling the ruins. Behind it, Trassen serves as supply line and refuge, feeding the front and tending those too wounded or tainted to hold it. Between them live scattered scavengers and hermit scholars.

Solena is never quiet. Cults of Zal'kathor work the shadows, the shifting dungeon called the Infernal Warrens breeds Void-touched horrors, and old legends speak of cursed sentinels, an undying flame, and a Seal of Galdrim hidden somewhere in the ruins. For all its danger, the promise of lost knowledge and ancient artifacts keeps drawing the bold and the foolish south.
