Dunnfarach Expanse

Stretching across the southeastern edge of the Tawny Vale, the Dunnfarach Expanse is a desolate and wind-swept region of rolling hills and scrubland. The area resists cultivation, and the few hardy plants that grow here seem to wither under the weight of the land's long and shadowed history. Scattered among the hills are ancient ruins, some scaled for human-sized occupants, others far larger, suggesting the remnants of long-vanished civilizations, including the rumored presence of giants.

The expanse is dotted with cairns, stone circles, and crumbling keeps, all of which carry a malign reputation. Local legends speak of cursed artifacts, restless spirits, and even the shadowy echoes of beings that predate mortal history. Few dare to travel through the Dunnfarach Expanse, and most take the safer roads skirting the region to the east and west.

The proximity of the Null Zone adds to the Expanse's eerie reputation, as travelers occasionally report strange phenomena—shifting lights, sudden chills, and a heavy, unnatural silence. Scholars and adventurers alike are drawn to the ruins in search of ancient knowledge, but many who enter the Dunnfarach Expanse never return.
