The Thornwick Isles are full of haunting myths, none more famous than the tale of the Three Sisters. Long ago they were sorceresses who wielded the powers of nature to keep their island safe. One night they were betrayed by a lover, and in their heartbreak they unleashed a storm so fierce it broke the island into three jagged pieces.

Legend
Each sister, in her sorrow and rage, anchored herself to one of the three fragments of the island. Selena became the sea, her voice still heard in the crashing waves; Morwen turned to stone, her eyes now the sharp cliffs; and Elira, the youngest, took to the skies, becoming the raging stormclouds that forever circle the isles. Sailors say that if you hear a woman's song on the wind, turn back, for it means the sisters are watching, and doom is not far behind.
Old Wives’ Tale
Mothers tell their children that those who visit the isles and pick the blood-red Witchthorn Flowers will be cursed to feel the heartbreak of the sisters, destined to lose someone they love within the year.
Superstitions & Customs
Sailors will not whistle within sight of the three stacks, lest they be taken for answering the sisters' song.
Brides in the isles wear no red on their wedding day, the color of the Witchthorn and of a lover's betrayal.
Passing the stacks, fishermen pour a cup into the sea, one for each sister.
