Magical Disease (Curse)
Level: 6
Attack: +14
Fortitude DC: 22
Onset: 1d4 days
Stage 1: The afflicted feels itching and discomfort beneath their skin. Small patches of moss begin to grow, causing a -1 status penalty to Fortitude saves against diseases. (1 day)
Stage 2: Vines and shoots start to emerge from the skin, reducing the afflicted’s Strength modifier by 2 as their muscles weaken. Additionally, they suffer a -10-foot penalty to their Speed. (1 day)
Stage 3: Entire limbs and sections of the body become overgrown with plant life. The afflicted takes a -4 status penalty to Athletics and Acrobatics checks and gains the immobilized condition unless they succeed at a DC 22 Athletics check to break free of the vines. (1 day)
Stage 4: The afflicted’s body becomes rooted to the spot, as the plants overtake their form. They are paralyzed and cannot take any actions other than mental ones. The afflicted also takes 1d6 persistent damage each day from the plants’ slow consumption of their body.
Cure: 3 consecutive saves; alternatively, powerful healing magic like a 7th-level remove curse or similar ritual can cure the disease.
Special: If the blight reaches Stage 4 and the afflicted is not cured within 7 days, they transform into a Blighted Husk, a plant-creature under the GM’s control.
