Reaction Roll

A reaction roll is called when characters encounter opponents in the world. A reaction roll is 2d6 modified by the appearance of the party. When the DM calls a reaction roll the party may decide what their appearance is and ask for any clarification on their surroundings and political landscape. Characters may also make checks to hide certain gear, like weapons or holy symbols.

Reaction Roll: 2d6 + Highest CHA in the party + Fame/Infamy.

As hostile or friendly as they'd usually be

More friendly and benign that you'd expect

As friendly and helpful as their nature permits

In a case where the opponents know the party or would recognize the party by sight their reaction roll will not occur and they will instead act in accordance with their relationships.

Reputation

While the party acts and travels they will gather a reputation, This is formed of a short word or phase, such as Talented, Heroic, Powerful, Professional or Weird. Alongside this there are two numbers:

  • Fame: Is how heroic or incredible the characters are seen as

  • Infamy: Is how villainous or terrifying the characters are seen as.

Both Fame and Infamy are short lived and decrease by 1 each time XP is counted.
