Accuma is a city built around a giant spire that stands very tall on green plains. The spire itself is hollow. Most services and infrastructure are built on the inside, while most living and gathering places are built over hanging platforms like nests or embedded on the rock on the outside. The city has a single and very controlled entrance at the bottom and is reserved only for very special occasions or heavy cargo. The majority of the access to the city is via aerial transport, mainly airships but also Flying Whales.

Whales are less common and are being replaced by airships, which are much cheaper to maintain, but some domesticated flying whales still remain in Accuma, although they are mostly used for tourism.

A small percentage of nomadic Accumans still live by their traditions, traveling the world over flying whales like their ancestors did, but most of them have settled on the spire over the last few centuries. They still call themselves “The Sky People”, even though they adopted a sedentary life.
